I know from experience that simply lying in stillness is both profoundly effective and deeply challenging. We’ve all been there. Those times when the relaxation is the high-light of the Yoga class and you don’t want it to end. And those other times, when it feels like interminable torture because you can’t get comfortable or stop your mind from racing.
TOBY YOGA joins the teaching team at Sheffield City Centre’s first Yoga Studio, Mudra. And book yourself onto a FREE Yoga class during Launch Week.
The ancient Yogis talked about the importance of practicing extension or control of the breath, believing that life is measured not by the number of our years but by the number of our breaths. On a basic level we practice pranayama to increase both the capacity of our lungs and to help them work more efficiently. Here we look at the Dru Yoga Windmill Breath.

In our non-stop, keep going, going busy, keep doing, doing, doing culture the fiery Sun Salutation is a firm favourite feature of many Yoga classes. However, we need balance. This week I gave my first workshop - a series of five on Positive Thinking - as a Certified Heal Your Life® Facilitator. And this week J.Lo released a video talking about reinventing yourself at any age in which she praises the work of Louise Hay. She recommends reading Louise's multi-million best-seller 'You Can Heal Your Life'.
Dru’s EBR7 Dynamic Relaxtion is performed lying down. This makes it perfect for those affected by hypertension or anyone who simply needs to unwind after a stressful day. It is particularly good for when you are 'over tired', those troubling times when you’re physically exhausted but mentally or emotionally wired, wide-awake and unable to sleep.
I’m featured in the latest, new-look St Luke’s Clifford House What’s On Magazine. On page five talking about the graceful power of Dru Yoga, alongside Martin Young who teaches Hatha Yoga at Clifford House on a Tuesday.
Working with EBR2 in several of my classes has made me reflect on my experiences of this signature Dru Yoga ‘energy block release’ sequence as both a student and as a trainee teacher. It’s been an interesting and enlightening journey. One that taught me a huge deal about resistance.
Dru Yoga should be available in every G.P. surgery
