Introducing Chair Yoga

Enjoy all the benefits of yoga from the comfort and convenience of a chair.

Chair Yoga is a great way to release tension and improve flexibility whatever your age or stage of life. It’s also great when you have limited space available or reduced opportunity to get up and move around.

This free 30 minute, introductory class is fun and informal. You simply sit, stretch and strengthen your way to a happier, healthier you.

Best of all, you don't need to be flexible or to have done yoga before to take part. In fact, you only need to be willing to move - as much as you either want or feel able to - and to enjoy yourself.

You’ll also need a sturdy and comfortable chair without arms - a standard kitchen or plastic garden chair is ideal - with space to stretch your arms out (above and to the sides).

This is a gentle and therapeutic class. All the movements and exercises we practice can be adapted to suit your individual needs and abilities. The class ends with a short, seated relaxation through the body allowing you to settle into stillness.

I have taught Chair Yoga to people of all ages and abilities, from nine-year-olds to ninety-two-year-olds, from office workers to those receiving hospice care. You can find out more about my regular weekly Chair Yoga classes here.

Enjoy! Thank you for watching.
