Flying High in OM Yoga Magazine

February 21, 2019 Tobias Oliver

I’m super excited to be featured in March edition of OM Yoga Magazine as this month’s, ‘Man on the Mat’.

Really, I am. Even if I do look a bit serious in the photo; I’m just concentrating on keeping the correct alignment as I balance on a tree stump.

In the article I guide you through one of my favourite asanas, the Eagle Pose (Garudasana) - a strengthening and balancing standing pose. (Please note; a tree stump is optional. I just couldn’t resist having the photo taken in my favourite local Sheffield park on a sunny Winter day).

There are so many benefits to be gained from the Eagle Pose. Such as strengthening muscles in the hips, thighs, calves and ankles, and improving flexibility in the shoulders, hips and ankles.

What’s more, as a balancing pose it requires focus and coordination, improving stamina, resilience and concentration. (Hence, my serious ‘concentrating hard’ face!)

You’ll have to get hold of your own copy of the March 2019 OM Yoga Magazine to discover even more benefits to be gained from Garudasana and to learn a few tips on how to practise this pose.

Then you too will be flying high!
