Read All About It!

I’m really enjoying my Saturday morning Yoga classes at St Luke’s Clifford House for people affected by an illness without cure.

It’s a real treat to be featured in their new-look What’s On magazine.

Here I am on page five talking about the graceful power of Dru Yoga, alongside Martin Young who teaches Hatha Yoga at Clifford House on a Tuesday.

Martin and I had different pathways to discovering Yoga but agree on the remarkable benefits it has given us on a physical, a mental and an emotional level.

Sharing Yoga with others as a teacher gives you the added benefit of seeing others discover these effects for themselves.

Working together in class week after week you get to see the changes in flexibility, reduced stress and a greater sense of well-being.

People all so often arrive at their first Yoga class worried that it will be too much for them and apologising in advance for being ‘no good’ at it. They soon discover that they can do far more than they think and leave surprised at what they have achieved.

Yoga is always about working with the individual. Recognising that everybody’s different and that every body’s body is different. How we feel and what we find easier varies from day to day.

The important thing is to proceed with awareness, acceptance and understanding.

With Yoga and with life in general.
